The Florida Atlantic Owls head home again on Saturday, but with the point spread against them by 8 points, it might not be quite the welcoming they would prefer. They will take on the UCF Knights at 7:30 p.m. ET at FAU Stadium. The Owls will be strutting in after a win while UCF will be stumbling in from a loss.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Florida Atlantic last week. Everything went their way against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions as they made off with a 42-9 victory. With Florida Atlantic ahead 28-3 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Meanwhile, UCF was hampered by 102 penalty yards against the Louisville Cardinals last Friday. UCF didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 20-14 to U of L. A silver lining for the Knights was the play of RB Isaiah Bowser, who punched in two rushing touchdowns.
The Owls found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unfortunate 48-14 punch to the gut against UCF when the teams previously met three seasons ago. Can Florida Atlantic avenge their defeat, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll soon find out.
