FIU vs. Middle Tenn. Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the FIU vs. Middle Tenn. football game
Game Recap
The Middle Tenn. Blue Raiders won the last time they faced the FIU Panthers, and things went their way two weeks ago, too. Middle Tenn. skirted past FIU 31-28. That was the first win for the Blue Raiders since their victory over the Panthers when the two teams previously met in October of last year.
QB Asher O'Hara had a stellar game for Middle Tenn. as he passed for two TDs and 268 yards on 42 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 106 yards. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time O'Hara has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season. O'Hara's sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
RB Shaun Peterson Jr. hadn't helped FIU's cause all that much against the Liberty Flames four weeks ago, but the same can't be said for this contest. FIU's loss came about despite a quality game from Peterson Jr., who rushed for two TDs and 117 yards on 15 carries. Peterson Jr. put himself on the highlight reel with a 63-yard TD scramble in the second quarter.
The win bumped Middle Tenn.'s record up to 1-4. This is the second loss in a row for the Panthers and nudges their record down to 0-2.
The Blue Raiders will take on the North Texas Mean Green at 5 p.m. ET last week at home. Middle Tenn. has kept their last three contests to within three points. FIU can take some time to mend their wounds since their next matchup isn't for a while. They will face the Jacksonville State Gamecocks at Riccardo Silva Stadium at 7 p.m. ET on Friday. FIU is expected to win again but is hoping to meet expectations this time.
