Game Recap
If the Miami (FL) Hurricanes were riding high off their 52-27 takedown of the Louisville Cardinals two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Miami (FL) didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 30-24 to the FIU Panthers on Saturday. If the result catches you off guard, it should: Miami (FL) was the far and away favorite.
Among those leading the charge for FIU was RB Anthony Jones, who rushed for 112 yards and one TD on 16 carries. QB James Morgan also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
The losing side was boosted by RB Cam'Ron Harris, who rushed for 86 yards and one TD on 11 carries.
The loss dropped the Hurricanes' record to 6-4. The win got FIU back to even at 5-5.
The Hurricanes will take on the Duke Blue Devils at 3:30 p.m. ET next week at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. Given that these teams both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest. As for FIU, they will face off against the Marshall Thundering Herd at noon ET at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. Marshall took a loss in their last matchup and are no doubt out to reverse FIU's good fortune.
