FAU will be in front of their home fans on Saturday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. They will take on the Tulane Green Wave at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
The point spread may have favored FAU last Saturday, but the final result did not. They received a tough blow as they fell 22-7 to East Carolina. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, FAU's point total in this one was quite the letdown.
Meanwhile, Tulane came tearing into Saturday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-22 win over Tulsa.
Makhi Hughes was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown. Hughes is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played.
This is the second loss in a row for FAU and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Tulane, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
While only Tulane took care of their fans the last time they played, neither team managed to cover. Looking ahead, Tulane shouldn't be too worried about this matchup, as the experts have them favored by 9.5 points. Against the spread, they have been a house darling this year with a chancy 3-7 ATS record.
