Alabama lands five-star prospect Elijah Haven: No. 1 QB in 2027 class commits to Crimson Tide over Georgia
The Crimson Tide landed the best QB prospect in the country on Saturday

Kalen DeBoer just landed a huge pledge in the 2027 recruiting class, as five-star quarterback Elijah Haven announced his commitment to Alabama on Saturday.
Haven is the No. 2 overall recruit and No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 class, and that pedigree led to a slew of scholarship offers from elite programs around the country. Ultimately, the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, product chose the Crimson Tide over Georgia.
247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins describes Haven as a "supersized quarterback," and it's hard to argue with that assessment considering his 6-foot-5 and 215-pound frame. Ivins also projects Havens as a "multi-year starter for a College Football Playoff contender" and compares him to Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
As a junior, Haven lit up the Louisiana high school ranks, setting a new state record with 73 total touchdowns and leading Dunham to a state championship. A star on the football field and the hardwood, Haven has been a multi-sport athlete throughout his high school career, but that will change this fall. Haven won't play basketball as a senior after leading the Tigers to the state semifinals in back-to-back seasons. Instead, Haven will be an early enrollee at the college level.
Recently, Dunham football coach Neil Weiner told CBS Sports that Haven's success as a two-sport athlete means he still possesses a lot of untapped potential.
"I think that shows how high his ceiling can be that he hasn't maxed out yet," Weiner said. "There's a lot of great quarterbacks right now across the country, I don't know how much better than can get because they've dedicated all of their waking moments to this. And I think Elijah's got bigger and better things beyond."
After Haven's commitment, Alabama's 2027 signing class now ranks 34th nationally, but the team only has five commitments. One of the other blue-chippers in that class is also a quarterback — Trent Seaborn out of Alabaster, Alabama.

|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | Keelon Russell | Duncanville, TX – Duncanville HS | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| 2026 | Jett Thomalla | Omaha, NE – Millard South HS | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| 2026 | Tayden Kaawa | Orem, UT – Orem HS | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| 2027 | Trent Seaborn | Alabaster, AL – Thompson HS | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| 2027 | Elijah Haven | Baton Rouge, LA – Dunham HS | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
The future of Alabama's quarterback room just got a lot more exciting, but the present is still rather murky. DeBoer has a big decision to make between Washington transfer Austin Mack and former five-star recruit Keelon Russell, who split first-team reps throughout spring practice. Neither player created any separation in Alabama's A-Day Game, so that battle will continue into fall camp.
