Eastern Michigan vs. Northern Illinois updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Eastern Michigan vs. Northern Illinois football game
The Eastern Michigan Eagles and the Northern Illinois Huskies are set to square off in a Mid-American matchup at 3:30 p.m. ET Oct. 15 at Rynearson Stadium. The Eagles are out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
EMU made easy work of the Western Michigan Broncos last week and carried off a 45-23 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7. EMU's RB Samson Evans did his thing and punched in three rushing touchdowns.
Meanwhile, NIU received a tough blow last week as they fell 52-32 to the Toledo Rockets. NIU was down 45-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. The losing side was boosted by RB Antario Brown, who punched in one rushing touchdown. Brown hadn't helped his team much against the Ball State Cardinals two weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
This next matchup is expected to be close, with EMU going off at just a 2.5-point favorite. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the team has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
Eastern Michigan's victory lifted them to 4-2 while Northern Illinois' defeat dropped them down to 1-5. Allowing an average of 38.33 points per game, the Huskies haven't exactly asserted themselves on the defensive end. We'll see if they can patch up the holes in their defense before their upcoming game.
