Live scores, highlights and updates from the Eastern Michigan vs. Northern Illinois football game
Game Recap
The Eastern Michigan Eagles won the last time they met up with the Northern Illinois Huskies, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. EMU came out on top against NIU by a score of 41-33 Saturday.
The Eagles' offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 20 points in the first half. The Huskies weren't quite able to keep up, and the score was 20-10 heading into the break. Although EMU wound up losing the second-half battle, they still had enough in reserve to win the war.
EMU's QB Preston Hutchinson did his thing and passed for two TDs and 242 yards on 29 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. EMU also got help from WR Hassan Beydoun, who showed off his sure hands for 136 receiving yards in the win.
A silver lining for NIU was the play of QB Ross Bowers, who passed for three TDs and 221 yards on 37 attempts.
The victory improved the Eagles' record to 2-4. The Huskies' overall record fell to 0-6. With that, the West Division playoffs come to an end.
