Connecticut vs. Houston updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Connecticut vs. Houston football game
The Houston Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Connecticut Huskies at noon ET on Saturday at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field. Houston won't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 32.5-point advantage in the spread.
The Cougars were hampered by 101 penalty yards against the Memphis Tigers last Friday, but luckily for them that wasn't the tale of the game. Houston took down Memphis 31-13. Houston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but RB Ta'Zhawn Henry led the charge as he punched in one rushing touchdown.
Meanwhile, the evening started off rough for UConn last week, and it ended that way, too. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 49-17 walloping at the UCF Knights' hands. The Huskies were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 35-14. RB Nathan Carter put forth a good effort for the losing side as he punched in one rushing touchdown.
This next contest looks promising for the Cougars, who are favored by a full 32.5 points. The odds have been favorable for them against the spread on the road this season, even if it's been tough sledding overall. They are 3-1 ATS in away games but only 6-4 all in all.
Houston is now 10-1 while UConn sits at 1-10. Two stats to keep an eye on: Houston is stumbling into the matchup with the 163rd most thrown interceptions in the nation, having thrown eight on the season. UConn has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 247th worst in the nation in thrown interceptions, having thrown 17 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
