Coastal Carolina vs. Texas State Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Coastal Carolina vs. Texas State football game
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and the Texas State Bobcats are set to square off in a Sun Belt matchup at 1 p.m. ET Nov. 20 at Brooks Stadium. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'
Coastal Carolina entered their game against the Georgia State Panthers last week without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. The Chanticleers fell in a 42-40 heartbreaker. This was hardly the result they or its fans were betting on, as they were favored by 12.5 points over Georgia State heading into this contest. A silver lining for Coastal Carolina was the play of RB Braydon Bennett, who rushed for one TD and 128 yards on ten carries. That touchdown -- a 75-yard rush in the first quarter -- was one of the highlights of the matchup.
Meanwhile, Texas State was hampered by 97 penalty yards against the Georgia Southern Eagles last week. Texas State came up short against Georgia Southern, falling 38-30. The game was a 17-17 toss-up at halftime, but the Bobcats were outplayed the rest of the way. QB Tyler Vitt had a pretty forgettable game, throwing one interception.
Special teams collected 12 points for Texas State. K Seth Keller delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
This next contest looks promising for Coastal Carolina, who are favored by a full 24.5 points. Those playing the odds have seen things go back and forth with Coastal Carolina, who are 5-4 against the spread.
Coastal Carolina is now 8-2 while the Bobcats sit at 3-7. A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Chanticleers are stumbling into the matchup with the 193rd most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 16 on the season. Texas State has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 226th worst in the nation in touchdowns allowed, with 40 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
