Coastal Carolina vs. Massachusetts: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Coastal Carolina vs. Massachusetts football game
The Massachusetts Minutemen have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. They will take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday at Brooks Stadium. Coastal Carolina should still be riding high after a victory, while the Minutemen will be looking to regain their footing.
UMass came up short against the Eastern Michigan Eagles last week, falling 42-28.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up 14-14 at the half for Coastal Carolina and the Buffalo Bulls last week, but Coastal Carolina stepped up in the second half for a 28-25 win. The overall outcome was to be expected, but Buffalo made it more of a game than the oddsmakers had predicted. RB Shermari Jones was the offensive standout of the matchup for the Chanticleers, rushing for one TD and 149 yards on 16 carries. Jones' performance made up for a slower contest against the Kansas Jayhawks two weeks ago.
The Minutemen are now 0-3 while Coastal Carolina sits at a mirror-image 3-0. A couple defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: UMass is stumbling into the game with the 247th most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 13 on the season. Coastal Carolinas have had an even harder time: they are 224th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with eight on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
