Coastal Carolina vs. Arkansas State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Coastal Carolina vs. Arkansas State football game
Game Recap
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers gave up the first points against the Arkansas State Red Wolves Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. Coastal Carolina made easy work of Arkansas State and carried off a 52-23 victory. For the Chanticleers, this is just revenge for the 28-27 loss they suffered against the Red Wolves the last time they faced one another on Nov. 16 of last year.
Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall was slinging it as he passed for four TDs and 322 yards on 29 attempts in addition to picking up 44 yards on the ground. McCall's 72-yard touchdown toss to TE Isaiah Likely in the first quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the day. RB CJ Marable also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
WR Brandon Bowling hadn't helped Arkansas State's cause all that much against the Kansas State Wildcats three weeks ago, but the same can't be said for this contest. Bowling put forth a good effort for the losing side as he caught seven passes for two TDs and 115 yards.
The win improved Coastal Carolina's record to 2-0. The loss dropped Arkansas State back to even at 1-1.
The Chanticleers will square off against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns at noon ET next week at Cajun Field. Louisiana is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 20-18 win over the Georgia Southern Eagles last week. The Red Wolves will be playing at home against the Central Arkansas Bears at 3:30 p.m. ET next week.
