The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are 0-6 against the Clemson Tigers since October of 2015, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Georgia Tech and Clemson will face off in an ACC battle at 3:30 p.m. ET at Memorial Stadium. These two teams are strolling into their contest after big wins in their previous games.
The Yellow Jackets took their matchup against the Kennesaw State Owls last week by a conclusive 45-17 score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-3.
Meanwhile, Clemson ran circles around the South Carolina State Bulldogs last week, and the extra yardage (515 yards vs. 235 yards) paid off. Clemson claimed a resounding 49-3 win over South Carolina State at home. With the Tigers ahead 35-3 at the half, the game was all but over already. Clemson's RB Will Shipley was one of the most active players for the squad, punching in two rushing touchdowns. Shipley had some trouble finding his footing against the Georgia Bulldogs two weeks ago, so this was a step in the right direction.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-1. With both the Yellow Jackets and Clemson swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
