Cincinnati vs. Army West Point Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Cincinnati vs. Army West Point football game
Game Recap
If the Army West Point Black Knights were riding high off their 37-7 takedown of the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. The Black Knights took a 24-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cincinnati Bearcats. Army West Point might not have won anyway, but their 117 penalty yards sure didn't help matters.
No one had a standout game offensively for Cincinnati, but they got scores from RB Gerrid Doaks, WR Michael Young Jr., and RB Jerome Ford. One of the most thrilling moments was Doaks' 60-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse LB Jarell White, who racked up ten tackles.
The loss dropped the Black Knights record to 2-1. The win makes it two in a row for Cincinnati and bumps their record up to 2-0.
Army West Point will be playing at home against the Abilene Christian Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. ET next Saturday. Like Army West Point, Abilene Christian is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 17-13 to the UTEP Miners. The Bearcats will be hunkering down at home again for their matchup against the South Florida Bulls at 3:30 p.m. ET Oct. 3 at Nippert Stadium. South Florida took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse Cincinnati's good fortune.
