Central Michigan vs. FIU: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Central Michigan vs. FIU football game
The FIU Panthers are staring down a pretty large ten-point disadvantage in the spread for Saturday's game. They are on the road again on Saturday and play against the Central Michigan Chippewas at noon ET Sept. 25 at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Neither team wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable defeat.
FIU found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unfortunate 54-21 punch to the gut against the Texas Tech Red Raiders last week. The Panthers were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.
Meanwhile, CMU suffered a grim 49-21 defeat to the LSU Tigers last week. The Chippewas were down 42-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. WR JaCorey Sullivan put forth a good effort for the losing side as he caught five passes for one TD and 114 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Sullivan's 78-yard TD reception in the first quarter.
The losses bumped both teams down to an identical 1-2. A couple defensive stats to keep an eye on: FIU is 192nd worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with six on the season. CMU has experienced some passing struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the 220th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up seven on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
