California vs. Washington State updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the California vs. Washington State football game
Game Recap
The point spread favored the California Golden Bears on Saturday, but luck did not. The game between California and the Washington State Cougars was not particularly close, with the Golden Bears falling 21-6. That's the fewest points California has scored all year.
Washington State's WR Calvin Jackson Jr. filled up the stat sheet, snatching two receiving TDs. QB Jayden de Laura didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but finished with three touchdowns.
Washington State's defense was a presence as well, as it got past California's offensive line to sack QB Chase Garbers four times for a total loss of 35 yards. It was a group effort with three guys contributing.
The Golden Bears' only offensive touchdown came from RB Christopher Brown Jr..
California's defeat pushed them down to 1-4. The Cougars' win brought them up to 2-3.
California will have some time to rest before their next contest, which is against the Oregon Ducks at 10:30 p.m. ET in two weeks at Autzen Stadium. These teams are both seeking redemption after dropping matches that they were favored to win. Washington State will be playing at home against the Oregon State Beavers at 4 p.m. ET next Saturday. Oregon State has averaged 44 points over the course of their past three games, so Washington State might be in for a challenge.
