California vs. Sacramento State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday

The Sacramento State Hornets will take on the California Golden Bears at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday at California Memorial Stadium.

The contest between the Hornets and the Northern Iowa Panthers last week was not a total blowout, but with Sacramento State falling 34-16 at home, it was darn close to turning into one. Sacramento State was down 34-9 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

California lost a heartbreaker to the TCU Horned Frogs when they met in December of 2018, and they left with a heavy heart again last week. California fell just short of TCU by a score of 34-32. A silver lining for the Golden Bears was the play of QB Chase Garbers, who passed for two TDs and 309 yards on 27 attempts in addition to picking up 43 yards on the ground. Garbers' performance made up for a slower game against the Nevada Wolf Pack two weeks ago.

These two teams will surely be fighting tooth and nail to get back into the win column after losses last week. Check back to see which squad is able to work their way into the win column.
