BYU vs. Boise State Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the BYU vs. Boise State football game
The BYU Cougars will take on the Boise State Broncos at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at home. BYU is out to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
The Cougars netted a 34-20 win over the Utah State Aggies last week. RB Tyler Allgeier was a one-man wrecking crew for BYU, rushing for three TDs and 218 yards on 22 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Allgeier's 59-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter. Allgeier's sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
Meanwhile, Boise State came up short against the Nevada Wolf Pack last week, falling 41-31. The losing side was boosted by WR Stefan Cobbs, who caught ten passes for two TDs and 132 yards. That receiving effort made it the first game that Cobbs has posted more than 100 yards receiving.
The Boise State defensive unit accumulated five sacks for a loss of 28 yards. Leading the way was DE Isaiah Bagnah and his three sacks. Bagnah now has five sacks this season.
BYU is the favorite in this one, with an expected 5.5-point margin of victory. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last Friday might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
BYU's victory brought them up to 5-0 while the Broncos' loss pulled them down to 2-3. A pair of defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Cougars are 180th worst in the nation in passing yards allowed per game, with 251.4 on average. Boise State has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 190th most rushing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 194 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
