After losing to the Kent State Golden Flashes the last time they met, the Buffalo Bulls decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulls made easy work of Kent State Saturday and carried off a 70-41 win. The victory was familiar territory for Buffalo, who is still undefeated after four games.
Buffalo started the game off right with 35 first-half points. Kent State countered with 24 points. The offense for Buffalo continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 35 points to put the game away.
RB Jaret Patterson went supernova for the Bulls as he rushed for eight TDs and 409 yards on 36 carries. Patterson put himself on the highlight reel with a 58-yard TD scramble in the fourth quarter. Not surprisingly, Patterson's sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season. RB Kevin Marks also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
A silver lining for the Golden Flashes was the play of QB Dustin Crum, who passed for three TDs and 343 yards on 32 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 76 yards.
The win improved the Bulls' record to 4-0. Kent State's loss pushed them down to 3-1.
Buffalo will take on the Ohio Bobcats at 3:30 p.m. ET next week at Peden Stadium. Ohio is coming in off of a big 52-10 win over the Bowling Green Falcons. The Golden Flashes are staying on the road next week to face off against the Miami (OH) RedHawks at noon ET Dec. 5 at Fred C. Yager Stadium.
