Boston College vs. Virginia: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Boston College vs. Virginia football game
The Virginia Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the Boston College Eagles at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Alumni Stadium. Virginia is limping into the matchup on a 4-game losing streak.
Virginia is still winless after their contest against NC State on Friday, but it was at least the closest they've come to winning. Virginia fell just short of NC State by a score of 24-21. Virginia has struggled against NC State recently, as Friday's contest was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Virginia's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Malik Washington, who picked up 170 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Anthony Colandrea who threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns. Washington is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Boston College traveled a rocky road last season, and unfortunately for them the road hasn't gotten any smoother. It's going to take some time for them to recover from the brutal 56-28 bruising that Louisville dished out on Saturday. Boston College was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-14.
Thomas Castellanos put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown. That's the first time this season that Castellanos passed for more than three passing touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Lewis Bond, who picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The losses dropped Virginia to 0-4 and Boston College to 1-3.
Not only did both teams lose their last games, neither team covered either. Looking ahead, Boston College is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by four points. This contest will be Virginia's fourth straight as the underdogs (a stretch that saw them go 2-2 against the spread).
