Game Recap
The NC State Wolfpack's contest against the Boston College Eagles on Saturday was close at halftime, but the Wolfpack turned on the heat in the second half with 23 points. NC State took their game against BC by a conclusive 33-7 score. The oddsmakers were on NC State's side, but they didn't give the squad enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide.
NC State QB Devin Leary was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 251 yards on 24 attempts. Leary's 79-yard touchdown toss to WR Thayer Thomas in the third quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the night.
No one had a standout game offensively for BC, but QB Dennis Grosel led the way with one touchdown.
NC State's victory brought them up to 5-1. The Eagles' loss pushed them down to 4-2.
The Wolfpack are on the road again next Saturday and play against the Miami (FL) Hurricanes at noon ET Oct. 23 at Hard Rock Stadium. If the matchup is anything like Miami (FL)'s 44-41 win from their previous meeting in November of last year, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy. As for BC, they will go up against the Louisville Cardinals at 4 p.m. ET next Saturday at Cardinal Stadium. U of L also suffered a recent defeat, falling 34-33 to the Virginia Cavaliers last week.
