Ball State vs. Georgia Southern updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Ball State vs. Georgia Southern football game
The Georgia Southern Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Ball State Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Scheumann Stadium. Georgia Southern don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 6.5-point advantage in the spread.
Georgia Southern gave up the first points and the most points on Saturday afternoon. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 35-14 walloping at Wisconsin's hands. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but sadly Georgia Southern was blown out by Wisconsin in the second.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing three points in their last match, Ball State made sure to put some points up on the board against Indiana State on Saturday. Ball State took their game at home with ease, bagging a 45-7 victory over Indiana State.
RB Marquez Cooper was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown. It was a true group effort though, as the team also got help from RB Rico Barfield, who rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown.
Ball State are hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This will be their first time playing as the underdogs at home this season.
Georgia Southern were able to grind out a solid victory over Ball State in their previous matchup last September, winning 34-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Georgia Southern since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
