Live scores, highlights and updates from the Auburn vs. Ole Miss football game
Game Recap
On Saturday, the Ole Miss Rebels were out to avenge their 35-28 loss to the Auburn Tigers from their previous meeting last October, but they had no such luck. The Rebels fell to Auburn 31-20. Ole Miss hasn't found any success against Auburn since Oct. 31 of 2015, this defeat making it six in a row.
Auburn's QB Bo Nix did his thing and passed for one TD and 276 yards on 30 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 30 yards. That's the most rushing touchdowns Nix has had all year. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse LB Zakoby McClain, who racked up ten tackles.
QB Matt Corral put forth a good effort for the losing side as he accumulated 289 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 45 yards.
Ole Miss' overall record fell to 6-2. The victory bumped the Tigers' record up to an identical 6-2.
The Rebels will square off against the Liberty Flames at noon ET next Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium at Hollingsworth Field. Ole Miss will need a sterling offensive performance if they want to penetrate an unbending defense that has allowed an average of only 17.78 points per game. As for Auburn, they will face off against the Texas A&M Aggies at 1 p.m. ET next Saturday at Kyle Field. The defensive coordinators will surely put in extra hours ahead of this contest since these teams' offenses combined for 962 yards this week.
