Arkansas vs. Mississippi State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Arkansas vs. Mississippi State football game
Mississippi State has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Arkansas Razorbacks at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Arkansas took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mississippi State, who comes in off a win.
Two weeks ago, Mississippi State beat Western Michigan 41-28. The win was just what Mississippi State needed coming off of a 40-17 defeat in their prior match.
Will Rogers was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 189 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Arkansas' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Alabama by a score of 24-21. The close matchup was extra heartbreaking for Arkansas, who almost overcame an 18 point deficit.
Despite the loss, Arkansas got a solid performance out of KJ Jefferson, who threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Arkansas' defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Landon Jackson and his 3.5 sacks.
The victory got Mississippi State back to even at 3-3. As for Arkansas, their loss was their fourth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-5.
While only Mississippi State took care of their fans the last time they played, neither team managed to cover. Going forward, Arkansas is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. For those looking to play the spread, keep Mississippi State's opponent in mind: they have a solid 4-1 record against the spread vs Arkansas over their last five matchups.
Mississippi State took their victory against Arkansas in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 40-17. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mississippi State since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
