Arkansas vs. Kent State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Arkansas vs. Kent State football game
The Kent State Golden Flashes will head out on the road to face off against the Arkansas Razorbacks at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
It's hard to win when you can't find the end zone and score eight fewer touchdowns than the other team, a fact Kent State found out the hard way on Thursday. Kent State was pulverized by UCF 56-6. The last quarter was a mere formality, since it was already 42-6 by the end of the third quarter.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Golden Flashes had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 240 total yards. They were dismantled by their opponents in that department as UCF gained 723.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Arkansas on Saturday. They blew past Western Carolina 56-13. Winning is a bit easier when you score seven more touchdowns than the other team, as Arkansas did.
QB KJ Jefferson looked spectacular while leading his team to the win, throwing for 246 yards and three touchdowns on 23 attempts. Jefferson wound up with a passer rating of 211.2. RB Raheim Sanders was another key contributor, rushing for 42 yards and two touchdowns.
Given Kent State entered the game as the 38 point underdog, the fact they still managed to cover the spread is downright impressive. They finished last season with a 5-7 record against the spread.
The Golden Flashes will be out to turn their luck around, while the Razorbacks will be hoping to grab another victory. Check back to see if Kent State can bounce back or if Arkansas can keep them down.
