Arkansas State vs. Texas State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday

This Saturday, the Arkansas State Red Wolves are hoping to patch up the holes in a defense that has allowed an average of 39.91 points per contest. Arkansas State and the Texas State Bobcats will face off in a Sun Belt battle at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday at Centennial Bank Stadium. If the matchup is anything like Texas State's 47-45 victory from their previous meeting in November of last year, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

The Red Wolves came up short against the Georgia State Panthers last week, falling 28-20. Arkansas State's loss came about despite a quality game from RB Lincoln Pare, who caught six passes for one TD and 118 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Pare's 83-yard TD reception in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, but Texas State was not quite the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers' equal in the second half when they met last week. Texas State took a 35-21 hit to the loss column. Despite the defeat, they got a solid performance out of RB Calvin Hill, who rushed for one TD and 100 yards on 12 carries. That touchdown -- a 54-yard rush in the second quarter -- was one of the highlights of the game.

This next contest is expected to be close, with Arkansas State going off at just a 2-point favorite. They are currently two-for-two against the spread in their most recent games, a trend bettors might want to take into account.

The losses put the Red Wolves at 2-9 and the Bobcats at 3-8. Arkansas State is 1-7 after losses this year, Texas State 3-4.
