Arkansas State vs. Memphis updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Arkansas State vs. Memphis football game
The Arkansas State Red Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Memphis Tigers at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Centennial Bank Stadium.
Saturday was a slow day for Arkansas State as the team failed to score. They took a serious blow against Oklahoma , falling 73-0. Winning is pretty hard when you can't find the end zone and score ten fewer touchdowns than the other team, as Arkansas State did.
The losing side was boosted by WR Courtney Jackson, who posted 66 receiving yards. Jackson's longest reception was for 47 yards. On the other side of the line, LB Javante Mackey was a menace on defense and made a total of eight tackles.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Red Wolves weren't very productive in the air and finished the game with only 160 passing yards. They were dismantled by their opponents in that department as Oklahoma passed for 422.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Memphis on Saturday. Everything went their way against Bethune-Cook. as they made off with a 56-14 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Memphis had established a 42 point advantage.
Arkansas State will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a 7-5 record against the spread.
Arkansas State came up short against Memphis in their previous matchup last September, falling 44-32. Will Arkansas State have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the matchup or check back on CBS Sports to find out.
