Game Recap
A well-balanced attack led the Arizona State Sun Devils over the Arizona Wildcats every single quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Sun Devils took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 70-7 victory over Arizona. Since ASU won the last time these teams met, too, this is only more fuel for the fire driving the Wildcats' future revenge.
ASU started the game off right with 42 first-half points. Arizona countered with 7 points. ASU put the matchup away in the third quarter with 21 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
The Sun Devils' RB Rachaad White was on fire, rushing for three TDs and 133 yards on ten carries. One of the most memorable plays of the game was White's 93-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget DB D.J. Taylor, who went all the way with a kickoff return for touchdown in the first quarter?
ASU's defense was a force to be reckoned with, as it collected three interceptions and four fumbles. Those interceptions were spread across their defensive unit.
The Wildcats' only offensive touchdown came from RB Michael Wiley.
The win improved the Sun Devils' record to 1-2. Arizona's overall record fell to 0-5. With that, the South Division playoffs come to an end.
