No. 1 -- QB Prince. At the beginning of spring practice, it appeared the starter's role was Kevin Prince's to lose. Sure enough, signs point to him losing the job. Brett Hundley is considered the front-runner with Richard Brehaut a close second. Not even an 8-of-11 effort for 101 yards and two TDs in the spring game helped Prince's chances to close the gap. No. 2 -- LB Barr. One-time RB Anthony Barr tried playing defense during spring practice. The transition, however, did not go as well as he hoped. Coach Jim Mora hinted that he will likely back up Damien Holmes and Aaron Wallace on the outside once the season starts. No. 3 -- RB Jones. Malcolm Jones had the chance to challenge counterpart Johnathan Franklin for the starter's role during spring practice. The competition, however, never materialized as Jones struggled with consistency. Steven Manfro also played well -- so well he could cut into some of the playing time previously reserved for Jones.
