This is expected to be an Exhibit 10 deal, allowing the Hornets to fill out their G League roster. Dixon is likely to suit up for the Greensboro Swarm once the Hornets eventually waive him.

Eric Dixon: Waived by Los Angeles
The Lakers waived Dixon (foot) on Saturday, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
Dixon initially joined the Lakers on a two-way deal in June before it was later converted to an Exhibit 10 contract in July. Although the 24-year-old was eventually waived, the Lakers will retain his G League rights. Dixon spent his entire collegiate career at Villanova, and he averaged 23.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists across 34.8 minutes per game in 35 outings during the 2024-25 campaign.

Lakers' Eric Dixon: Inks Exhibit 10 deal
The Lakers signed Dixon (foot) to an Exhibit 10 contract Saturday, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
Dixon originally agreed to a two-way contract with Los Angeles on June 26, but that now has been converted to an Exhibit 10 deal. The 24-year-old didn't play during the California Classic or Las Vegas Summer League due to a foot injury. The Villanova product showcased his scoring ability during his final season playing on the college level, averaging 23.3 points per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Lakers' Eric Dixon: Out for Summer League
Dixon (foot) will not be playing in the Summer League, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.
Dixon was seen in a walking boot and using a scooter ahead of the Lakers' first Summer League game Thursday against the Mavericks. He signed a two-way contract with the team after going undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft, following a standout season at Villanova during which he averaged 23.3 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from three-point range over 35 games.

Dixon didn't hear his name called on draft night, but it didn't take long for the Villanova product to find an opportunity. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged a career-high 23.3 points over 35 games during his senior season, hitting at a clip of 40.7 percent from downtown.
