Draft Scouting Report
Pro Comparison: Andrew Nembhard
Summary
Uzan was a nationally ranked four-star prospect out of high school who spent his first two seasons at Oklahoma, being named to the Big 12 All-Freshman team and then becoming a full-time starter as a sophomore. He transferred to Houston for his junior season, taking over the point guard spot upon Jamal Shead’s graduation, and was instrumental in the Cougars’ Big 12 championship and run to the national championship game. Following the season he went through the draft process, before opting to return for his senior season.
About
- 2025 All-Big 12 Second Team and 2026 Honorable Mention
- 2025 Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team and NCAA Tournament Midwest Region All-Tournament Team.
- Ranked among the nation’s top 25 in assist-to-turnover ratio in each of the last two years.
Strengths
- Has the feel for the game, poise, and decision-making ability of a pure point guard (better than 3:1 assist-to-turnover ratio in consecutive years), but content to slide off the ball and operate as more of a connector if he’s paired with a dynamic creator.
- Long-range shooter with clean mechanics and soft natural ball. Connected on 46% of his unguarded catch-and-shoot 3-pointers this season.
- Made very notable defensive strides in his time at Houston and projects as a reliable contributor on that end of the floor. Also has solid positional size at 6-3 without shoes on and fluid hips.
Weaknesses
- Didn’t take the next step forward as expected as a senior, with shooting percentages and total production that dropped across the board.
- Not a natural creator or tough shot-maker. He ranked in the 34th percentile as an isolation player, has consistently generated low free-throw rates, and makes under 30% of his 3-pointers when he’s either contested or shooting off the dribble.
- Below the rim athlete who didn’t record a single dunk this year and measured a 28-inch standing vertical that was among the lowest of potential second-round point guards at the combine (rated better in agility and shuttle run).
Combine Data
- 20-yard shuttle run: 2.94 seconds
- Wingspan: 6 feet, 5 inches
- Standing vertical leap: 28 inches
- Standing reach: 8 feet, 2 inches
- Lane agility: 10.70 seconds
- Three quarter sprint: 3.21 seconds
- Max vertical leap: 35 inches
