The final minute of the first half of Saturday’s West Regional final between Gonzaga and Xavier was absolutely bonkers.
With both teams battling for a rebound with under 30 seconds remaining before halftime, Gonzaga appeared to secure the rebound before an awkward bounce off the face of the Bulldogs’ Johnathan Williams miraculously found its way into the basket -- but it was the wrong goal.
And that might not have been the craziest basket around that time. After Gonzaga scored on the following possession, Xavier’s J.P. Macura pulled up from 3/4 court at the buzzer aaaaaaand nailed it.

That last one didn’t count, as it came just after the buzzer. But maybe we can give them a bonus point for style?
