Atak, Brown lead Oklahoma past Mississippi Valley State

Kuol Atak scored a career-high 24 points and Xzayvier Brown added 22 to lead Oklahoma to a 93-69 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Monday in their final tuneup before SEC play.

Atak scored 19 of his points before halftime while making 5 of 6 3-point attempts for the Sooners (10-3), who have won four in a row and eight of nine.

He finished the game with six 3-pointers as Oklahoma shot 57.9% overall and matched a season high with 14 3-pointers on 32 attempts (43.8%).

Nijel Pack contributed 13 points and seven assists and Tae Davis scored 10.

Michael James led MVSU (1-13) with 24 points and Patrick Punch scored 19 while making 5 of 8 3-pointers.
