Anthony Finkley, Rob Dockery lead La Salle past LIU 88-80
PHILADELPHIA (AP) Anthony Finkley had 19 points in La Salle Explorers’s 88-80 win against LIU Sharks on Saturday.
Finkley also added three steals for the Explorers (1-1). Rob Dockery added 18 points while shooting 6 for 14 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line while they also had six rebounds and seven assists. Devin Booker went 4 of 7 from the field (3 for 5 from 3-point range) to finish with 13 points.
Daquan Davis led the Sharks (0-3) in scoring, finishing with 15 points and two steals. LIU also got 12 points and six rebounds from Joshua Skinner. Ryan Bewley finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
La Salle entered halftime up 39-37. Finkley paced the team in scoring in the first half with 13 points. La Salle pulled off the victory after a 10-0 second-half run erased a two-point deficit and gave them the lead at 65-57 with 9:23 left in the half. Booker scored 13 second-half points.
