Zuffa Boxing 11 results, highlights: Johnny Fisher outpoints Michael Pirotton for big win in promotional debut

Johnny Fisher made a successful Zuffa Boxing debut with a majority decision win over Michael Pirotton in the main event of Zuffa Boxing 11 on Saturday in Fisher's native England.

The action stayed at a high pace throughout 10 rounds of the heavyweight bout, with both men having solid moments, even as both fatigued badly as the fight wore on. That fatigue didn't slow either, even if both men looked as though they'd struggle to raise from their stools between rounds.

Fisher was the more explosive puncher, using upper body movement to slip shots and explode with combinations. When he was able to operate on the front foot, Fisher dominated the action and neutralized Pirotton.

The problem for Fisher was that Pirotton was often the man walking forward. When that was the case, Fisher got stuck in neutral, unable to really unload his explosive shots.

That balance made for a compelling fight of back-and-forth action. Even when Fisher opened a nasty cut over Pirotton's left eye that had the referee on the verge of stopping the fight, Pirotton found periods of nearly every round where he was able to walk Fisher down and land hard shots to the body and head.

Still, it was Fisher's bigger punches and flashier combinations that were the deciding factor, and he took the fight by official scores of 95-95, 98-92 and 96-95.

After the fight, Fisher struggled to leave his stool in the corner, and even after leaving the ring, had to take a seat and recover at ringside, skipping a post-fight interview.

Fisher improves to 15-1 in his pro career, and will likely be a player in a wide-open Zuffa Boxing heavyweight division.

CBS Sports was with you throughout the entire way on Saturday with the live results and highlights below.

Johnny Fisher vs. Michael Pirotton: Round 9 -- 10-9 Fisher (88-83)

Pirotton looks exhausted between every set of rounds but comes out and continues firing. Fisher bobbed and weaved through several punches before uncorking a big shot of his own. Things are still competitive, but Fisher probably has the cards locked up.

Johnny Fisher vs. Michael Pirotton: Round 8 -- 10-9 Fisher (78-74)

Fisher looked good and loose after he rested for the early part of the round. Pirotton still was dangerous, landing to the body, a tactic he went back to repeatedly in the round. Fisher dug his own thudding left to the body.

Johnny Fisher vs. Michael Pirotton: Round 7 -- 10-9 Fisher (68-65)

The action remained at a rare pace for heavyweights, both men throwing and taking shots, but Fisher was still getting the better of things. A good right from Fisher seemed to rattle Pirotton a bit, but Pirotton kept throwing, trying to find the shot that would back Fisher off again. Pirotton had a nice moment of working to the body and head with a few flurries but Fisher went hard to the body and Pirotton immediately backed off.

Johnny Fisher vs. Michael Pirotton: Round 6 -- 10-9 Fisher (58-56)

Both men landed hard hooks in the early moments of the round. Pirotton wasn't able to walk forward as often as the previous round, allowing Fisher to pick his spots to let his hands go. Both men looked pretty fatigued as the round wore on, throwing arm punches without the same power as their early work. Fisher was able to sit down on some big power shots late in the round, cementing the fifth as one for him on the cards.

Johnny Fisher vs. Michael Pirotton: Round 5 -- 10-9 Pirotton (48-47 Fisher)

Pirotton tried to walk Fisher down early in the fifth round. Pirotton had some good early success with the pressure. Fisher is not effective fighting backward, but he is fast and hits fairly hard if he can set his feet. Pirotton had more success on the front foot, tagging Fisher and even dipping down with his own body shots to counter Fisher's bobbing and weaving. Fisher landed a heavy shot that hurt Pirotton at the end of the round, but that was a solid Pirotton round.

Johnny Fisher vs. Michael Pirotton: Round 4 -- 10-9 Fisher (39-37)

Pirotton landed some very good shots early but Fisher landed a good hook that stopped Pirotton in his tracks. The action was stopped about midway into the round so the doctor could check the cut over Pirotton's left eye. The doctor allowed the action to continue. Fisher continued to land the bigger shots, including ripping to Pirotton's body. Fisher trapped Pirotton against the ropes and unloaded with some more heavy shots as Pirotton's eye started to bleed even more.

Johnny Fisher vs. Michael Pirotton: Round 2 -- 10-9 Pirotton (19-19)

Fisher looked a bit gassed after just one round, which is worth keeping an eye on. Pirotton kept calm and looked for spots to fire punches in. A Pirotton right hand connected, followed by another fight after both traded jabs. Fisher fired a body shot. Another Pirotton right hand landed and another jab and then a left hook. Fisher looked as though he was struggling to really get out of first gear in the round, but a left hook landed that stopped Pirotton's march briefly. Fisher had a nice flurry in the final seconds.

Johnny Fisher vs. Michael Pirotton: Round 1 -- 10-9 Fisher

Fisher came right out working his jab. Pirotton wanted to walk forward but that meant walking right into the jab, but a big right hand and left hook snapped Fisher's head back. Fisher came right back with heavy shots to the head and body. Pirotton showed a solid willingness to keep coming forward, even if Fisher was going to fire shots at every opportunity. Fisher closed with another good flurry.

Radivoje Kalajdzic takes an entertaining decision win over Craig Richards

Richards and Kalajdzic put on a fun show throughout the fight. Both men had heavy jabs working from the opening round and brought strong straight rights behind it. Kalajdzic was the man landing the more meaningful shots for much of the fight, hurting Richards several times. Richards kept coming back throughout, and even hurt Kalajdzic a few times, once to the body.

The biggest moment of the fight came with just 10 seconds to go, when a big Kalajdzic right hand put Richards on the canvas. Richards beat the referee's count but was very unsteady on his feet. Had the bell not sounded to end the fight, it seemed likely Kalajdzic would have gotten the stoppage.

97-92 scores across the board as Kalajdzic gets his second entertaining win under the Zuffa banner.

Up next: Craig Richards vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic, light heavyweights

Kalajdzic is always a fun fighter to watch, and he owns one of Zuffa Boxing's most incredible wins, his comeback knockout over Oleksandr Gvozdyk at Zuffa Boxing 02.

Richards has earned a stoppage in each of his five most recent victories. Some of today's fights have disappointed, but it will be surprising if Richards vs. Kalajdzic doesn't deliver.

Lee Cutler outworks Louis Greene for unanimous decision win

This was a decent fight, with periods of good exchanges. That said, it never quite maxxed out at the heights it was possible of reaching.

Official scorecards read 98-92, 97-93 and 97-93. There was rarely doubt that Cutler was in control of the fight, even during Greene's best moments.

Up next: Lee Cutler vs. Louis Greene, middleweights

Cutler is a very narrow -165 fighter. Cutler has one victory since dropping a fight to Sam Eggington. Greene is a hard-charging fighter and one who will keep the pressure on Cutler, who is the better boxer overall. This could be an interesting fight, especially if Greene is able to make it a rough one.

Allen, the first woman signed to a Zuffa Boxing contract, is a massive -20000 favorite entering the ring. Kiss has been in with some big names, but has a losing record, which explains Allen making her pro decut against her.

Leo Ruiz outworks Cesar Mateo Tapia for the upset decision win

Tapia faded in the second half of the fight, allowing for Ruiz to build momentum and take over the bout. Ruiz gets his second win under the Zuffa Boxing banner and it's a very good one for him that will earn him more -- and bigger -- opportunities as his Zuffa career continues.

Up next: Cesar Mateo Tapia vs. Leo Ruiz, middleweights

Tapia is a -260 favorite. He was in a fantastic 2024 fight with Endry Saavedra and is a good action fighter. Of note, Tapia has only fought once since that bout against Saavedra. Ruiz is the kind of fighter who will meet Tapia in the center of the ring and produce some fireworks.

This is a potential show-stealer and one to watch.

Alex MacMillan stops Guillaume Azagier in two

As much of a mismatch as the odds suggested, this fight was never close. MacMillan poured on pressure and Azagier never put much steam on his punches, nor did he seem to have any skills that could keep MacMillan fromn doing whatever he wanted.

MacMillan scored two knockdowns in Round 1 and then closed the show with another in the third, leading Azagier's corner to throw in the towel.

Up next: Alex MacMillan vs. Guillaume Azagier, junior middleweights

MacMillan is a massive -3500 favorite entering the fight. At just 4-0 as a professional, he still has an advantage over the 2-0 Azagier. This should be a showcase for MacMillan and little more.

Controversy in Middlesex as Rogelio Romero stops Aurel Ignat

A wild cruiserweight fight saw both men score big shots and hurt the other. Romero was largely getting the better of things, but Ignat was scoring his own bombs and had Romero uncomfortable at moments. Right as Ignat was starting to build momentum, the referee halted the action to pick up a mouthpiece. Then, as Ignat was hurt, but clearly not finished, the ref jumped in to halt the bout. An unsatisfying finish to a fun fight.
