Jaguars vs. Chiefs NFL betting preview

Jacksonville is off to an impressive 3-1 start and is tied for first in the AFC South entering the week while Kansas City is coming off a needed win over Baltimore to get back to .500 (2-2). This will be the first head-to-head matchup between these two teams since 2023, but the two franchises did meet three times in an 11-month span early in Trevor Lawrence's career.

The Chiefs won all three of those matchups, including a 27-20 win in the divisional round of the 2023 NFL Playoffs. Kansas City covered the spread in two of those three meetings and Patrick Mahomes threw for 634 yards and five touchdowns in the two regular-season wins. Mahomes had his first four-touchdown game since 2023 last week in the win over the Ravens.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars are coming off an upset win in San Francisco and the running game is clicking in Liam Coen's first year at the helm. Travis Etienne has rushed for 394 yards and is averaging 6.1 yards per carry to lead the NFL.
